National Equestrian Tournament Guide Lines

Please read all participation guidelines below before choosing to buy in.

The National Equestrian Tournament will offer 5 Jumper Divisions and 3 Hunter Divisions. The tournament will run as an overlay.

The first four weeks will act as qualifiers for the final which will take place June 1-5, 2022.

The tournament buy in will go as follows:

Jumpers:

1.15m Child/Adult:

$6,000………. buy in

$750 to NEE

Of remaining $5,000:

20% goes to 1.45m/1.50m prize money

$4,000 goes to prize money “pot”

1.25m Jr/Am:

$6,000………. buy in

1.35m Open:

Prize money will be awarded as follows:

*Base Prize Money: prize money that is offered for all entries (horses not entered in the tournament, horses entered in the tournament who did not qualify, horses entered in the tournament that did qualify)

*Tournament Bonus: money added by the horse show for qualified tournament horses.

*Tournament buy in money: buy in money goes into a “pot” that becomes additional prize money for qualified tournament horses

-1.15m Child/Adult: $1,500 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + total tournament buy in money (less 20%)

-1.25m Jr/Am: $2,500 Base Prize Money + $10,000 Tournament Bonus + total tournament buy in money (less 20%)

-1.35m Open: $10,000 Base Prize Money + $15,000 Tournament Bonus + total tournament buy in money (less 10%)

-1.40m Open: $20,000 Base Prize Money + $20,000 Tournament Bonus + total tournament buy in money (less 10%)

-1.45m/1.50m Open: $50,000 Base Prize Money + $50,000 Tournament Bonus + total tournament buy in money

-2’6/2’9 Child/Adult Hunter: $1,000 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + total tournament buy in money

-3’ Child/Adult Hunter: $1,500 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + total tournament buy in money

-3’3/3’6 Jr/AO Hunter: $2,500 Base Prize Money + $15,000 Tournament Bonus + total tournament buy in money

First hypothetical example:

If only 15 horses buy in to the 1.15m division, the prize money for the final would be $66,500. $1,500 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + $60,000 in tournament buy in money ($4,000 x 15 horses). ***$15,000 to GP

If only 15 horses buy in to the 1.25m division, the prize money for the final would be $72,500. $2,500 Base Prize Money + $10,000 Tournament Bonus + $60,000 in tournament buy in money ($4,000 x 15 horses). ***$15,000 to GP

If only 15 horses buy in to the 1.35m division, the prize money for the final would be $92,500. $10,000 Base Prize Money + $15,000 Tournament Bonus + $67,500 in tournament buy in money ($4,500 x 15 horses). ***$7,500 to GP

If only 15 horses buy in to the 1.40m division, the prize money for the final would be $107,500. $20,000 Base Prize Money + $20,000 Tournament Bonus + $67,500 in tournament buy in money ($4,500 x 15 horses). ***$7,500 to GP

If only 15 horses buy in to the 1.45m/1.50m division, the prize money for the final would be $220,000. $50,000 Base Prize Money + $50,000 Tournament Bonus + $75,000 in tournament buy in money ($5,000 x 15 horses) + $45,000 from other divisions.

Another hypothetical example:

If only 25 horses buy in to the 1.15m division, the prize money for the final would be $106,500. $1,500 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + $100,000 in tournament buy in money ($4,000 x 25 horses). ***$25,000 to GP

If only 25 horses buy in to the 1.25m division, the prize money for the final would be $112,500. $2,500 Base Prize Money + $10,000 Tournament Bonus + $100,000 in tournament buy in money ($4,000 x 25 horses). ***$25,000 to GP

If only 25 horses buy in to the 1.35m division, the prize money for the final would be $137,500. $10,000 Base Prize Money + $15,000 Tournament Bonus + $112,500 in tournament buy in money ($4,500 x 25 horses). ***$12,500 to GP

If only 25 horses buy in to the 1.40m division, the prize money for the final would be $152,500. $20,000 Base Prize Money + $20,000 Tournament Bonus + $112,500 in tournament buy in money ($4,500 x 25 horses). ***$12,500 to GP

If only 25 horses buy in to the 1.45m/1.50m division, the prize money for the final would be $300,000. $50,000 Base Prize Money + $50,000 Tournament Bonus + $125,000 in tournament buy in money ($5,000 x 25 horses) + $75,000 from other divisions.

Last hypothetical example:

If only 35 horses buy in to the 1.15m division, the prize money for the final would be $146,500. $1,500 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + $140,000 in tournament buy in money ($4,000 x 35 horses). ***$35,000 to GP

If only 35 horses buy in to the 1.25m division, the prize money for the final would be $152,500. $2,500 Base Prize Money + $10,000 Tournament Bonus + $140,000 in tournament buy in money ($4,000 x 35 horses). ***$35,000 to GP

If only 35 horses buy in to the 1.35m division, the prize money for the final would be $182,500. $10,000 Base Prize Money + $15,000 Tournament Bonus + $157,500 in tournament buy in money ($4,500 x 35 horses). ***$17,500 to GP

If only 35 horses buy in to the 1.40m division, the prize money for the final would be $197,500. $20,000 Base Prize Money + $20,000 Tournament Bonus + $157,500 in tournament buy in money ($4,500 x 35 horses). ***$17,500 to GP

If only 35 horses buy in to the 1.45m/1.50m division, the prize money for the final would be $380,000. $50,000 Base Prize Money + $50,000 Tournament Bonus + $175,000 in tournament buy in money ($5,000 x 35 horses) + $105,000 from other divisions.

Hypothetical hunter example:

If only 10 horses buy in to the 3’ Child/Adult division, the prize money for the final would be $26,500. $1,500 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + $20,000 in tournament buy in money ($2,000 x 10).

If only 15 horses buy in to the 3’ Child/Adult division, the prize money for the final would be $36,500. $1,500 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + $30,000 in tournament buy in money ($2,000 x 15).

If only 20 horses buy in to the 3’ Child/Adult division, the prize money for the final would be $46,500. $1,500 Base Prize Money + $5,000 Tournament Bonus + $40,000 in tournament buy in money ($2,000 x 20).

JUMPER QUALIFICATION:

-Jumpers qualify based on placings in respective classics throughout the series. Point breakdown goes as follows: 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. Ties will be accepted.

-30% or 12 horses, whichever is greater, will qualify for final.

-Free entry and stall to those who qualify for final.

-Top 15 horses on the Rolex/USEF Show Jumping Ranking List have a FREE entry into the tournament.

-Prize Money pays to 12th place

-Hunters qualify based on division points in respective divisions throughout the series.

WILD CARD SPOTS:

-Wild card spots can be earned into jumper divisions by winning one of the designated division classics at one of the 4 shows leading up to the final week.

-If a horse/rider combination already entered in the tournament wins a wild card spot, they may either bring an additional horse or sell their spot in the final.

PERKS:

-Jumpers who buy into the tournament will get a minimum of $6,000 back in the form of discounts to various equestrian companies.

-Hunters who buy into the tournament will get a minimum of $3,000 back in the form of discounts to various equestrian companies.

-Wild card spots are not given discounts.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

-In case of an injured horse, another horse may be substituted with a letter from the caring veterinarian. However, any points already earned will not carry over to substituted horse. Additionally, jumpers will be responsible for a $1,000 substitution fee and hunters will be responsible for a $500 substitution fee. These substitution fees will be added to the “pot”.
